Salman Khan starrer Tubelight is one of the much anticipated films of the year. The movie is just few days away from its release, and the makers have now decided to shorten the film by 14 minutes. The movie had a run time of 2 hours and 35 minutes, and now, it’s 2 hours 16 minutes.
According to sources, “Kabir Khan’s films are usually lengthier than the stipulated two hours that the multiplex-viewing audience favours. His last film Bajrangi Bhaijaan was nearly three hours long, and worked just fine. Tubelight was edited and readied at a run time of two hours and 35 minutes. But the team decided to slash the film by 14 more minutes just a week before its release.”
This makes Tubelight Salman’s shortest film in recent times. His last release ‘Sultan’ was 2 hours 50 minutes long. ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ before that was 2 hours 43 minutes, and ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ prior to that was just over 3 hours long.
Directed by Kabir Khan, Tubelight is a story of Laxman Singh Bisht’s quest for his brother who goes missing during the 1962 Indo-China War. The film also features Chinese actress Zhu Zhu, late Om Puri and Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub in pivotal roles.
The film is set to release on June 23.
